Back to science fiction with this one, and it’s all about fungus. Fungus and its relationship to humanity, space travel, and other things. Apparently this was part of the new Star Treks, but I didn’t watch those!

17 – Two Kingdoms:

The story is told through ship logs that jump throughout 3300 years of space travel on a generation ship. These are made by two people that are human-fungal hybrids to survive the rigors of milennia out in space. We learn of their daily lives, interstellar encounters, and their unwavering devotion to each other, despite never meeting, and The Founder, who started this entire expedition to find a distant paradise planet, but who they also have never met. But of course, not all is as it seems.

This is the second story in Volume 6, and the penultimate 8th story in Book 2.
